1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how RankRadar (“RankRadar”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and retains personal data in connection with the website at rankradar.io (the “Site”).
It does not apply to the RankRadar platform provided at app.rankradar.io, access to which is governed by the commercial agreement concluded with the relevant customer.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Data you submit through the enquiry form. Your name, work email address, company, role, the nature of your enquiry, the contents of your message, and — where you choose to provide one — a telephone number or messaging handle. We additionally record the date and time of submission and the page from which it was sent.
- Data generated by your use of the Site. Pages and sections viewed, scroll depth, interactions with links and controls, approximate time spent, and device category. This data is collected through Google Analytics, deployed by means of Google Tag Manager.
We do not request or collect special categories of personal data, and we do not acquire personal data relating to you from third-party sources. We do not ourselves store your IP address; Google receives it in the course of providing analytics services and uses it to derive an approximate geographic location.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Data submitted through the enquiry form is processed in order to respond to that enquiry and to pursue the commercial discussion it initiates. The legal basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in conducting our business.
- Usage data is processed in order to understand how the Site performs and how visitors interact with it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the Site, subject to the choice described in clause 4.
4. Analytics and your choice
Measurement is active when a page is loaded. A notice is displayed stating that this is the case and offering the option to disable it.
If you elect to disable measurement, the analytics container is not requested and no further data is transmitted for a period of twenty-four hours from the time of that election. After twenty-four hours the election lapses, the notice is displayed again, and you may repeat it. If you accept, that acceptance is recorded and the notice is not displayed again in the same browser.
Your election is recorded in your browser’s local storage under the key rr_consent. It is not a cookie, it is not transmitted to us, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
5. Disclosure and international transfers
Data submitted through the enquiry form is recorded in a private spreadsheet hosted by Google and accessible only to our personnel, and is additionally written to our server logs. Usage data is processed by Google as our analytics provider. Processing by Google may take place outside the country in which you are located, including in the United States.
We do not sell personal data. We do not disclose personal data to advertising networks, data brokers or other third parties, save where required to do so by law.
6. Retention
Enquiry data is retained for as long as the enquiry remains live and thereafter for as long as we have a legitimate business reason to retain it, and is erased on request. Usage data is retained in accordance with the retention period configured on our Google Analytics property.
7. Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to our use of it, or otherwise exercise your rights under applicable data protection law. Requests should be sent to [email protected] and are answered without undue delay.
8. Contact
Enquiries concerning this Privacy Policy, or the exercise of the rights described in clause 7, should be addressed to [email protected].
9. Amendments
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date stated at the head of this page is the date of the version currently in force, and that version supersedes all earlier versions.
